Think the Yellow Dog Life is for you?

If you have made it this far, welcome! You're exactly the kind of person we enjoy meeting.
All inquiries require a small application be submitted for consideration in order to be added to our waiting list. We take great pride in matching dogs with successful homes and appreciate your willingness to assist in this process.

Planned breedings require four names on the list for the breeding to be scheduled. Once we have our list full, it is then up to the girl to decide when she wants to have babies and come into season.

On occasion we have mission ready dogs available. The foundation laid by our protocol is flexible and allows for a diverse selection of homes. Our dogs succeed as companion dogs, competitive dogs, hunting companion dogs, and therapy dogs. Our yellow dogs don't have to hunt, they are just looking to be be someone's dog. They have the skills to adapt and blend into their forever homes allowing their new people to relax and enjoy the bonding process instead of stressing over new routines.  Puppies and young dogs come with a two year health guarantee. All dogs come with lifetime support. We support our families, even beyond the life of their first dog. No message or call is ever a bother. Our goal is successful integration into the real world in order to continue Angie's YDA Mission Happiness, one yellow dog at a time.

Mission Ready Dogs

These Yellow Dogs have completed their preparation and are ready to begin their next mission with the right home.
Placement investment is determined by the dog's training, experience, and stage of development.

Louie

IMG_0127.jpg

Louie is a big dog in a little dog body. He is enthusiastic and loves to work. Upland or waterfowl, he has the skills and the talent to do both. I think due to his size and talented nose,  he would be phenomonal in the upland arena. In fact, he is so fast and accurate, he could be a contender for tournament hunting with the right handler. He has no problem diving into water to get ducks and geese, but this dog was made for upland hunteing. He would also excel at shed hunting or detection work.

He has immense prey drive and a motor that does not quit. Louie is only 45# which makes him ideal for any adventure. He loves to swim and really just wants to be around people.  He is great with children, other dogs, and cats. Louie has lived in the house his entire life and is prepared to become a functional family member. Louie knows how to be a house dog during non hunting seasons,.

Every day, for Louie, is the best day ever.

Louie has been force fetched and collar conditioned. He is crate trained and is proficient in "place". He will remain on a dog bed or place block until invited off.  He has a solid obedience foundation on and off leash. His recall is solid on 'here" or three toots on the whistle. He has a lot of get up and go, so he is always dancing. He is in heel, but he is having his own little heeling dance party.

Louie has had live birds, dead birds, and shot over with a 12 gauge. In the upland field, Louie quarters like a dream. He is a fantastic marker and delivers to hand, in heel. He is ready to chase a Jr or started title as he retrieves on land and water. Louie has a whistle sit, does no-no drills, and honors other working dogs.  He is steady to shot,  capable of doubles, and goes on "back". He has not been forced to pile nor does he handle.

On the social spectrum, Louie has been to various dog friendly public venues and is confident in his skills which makes him a pleasure to take on any and all adventures dogs are welcome to join. He has gone to dog friendly public water areas and dog friendly stores. Louie transports beautifully either in a crate or "on place" in the passenger seat.

Louie is the ideal candidate for the avid hunting family. He is on fire in the field but affectionate and quiet in the home.  He is crate trained, house trained, and does not chew or destroy property. Louie is the kind of dog looking to  "forever bond" and will blend almost seamlessly into any dog lover home. He has the skills to make "I got a new dog" an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Hank
Starlite x Gordy

IMG_6545.jpg

Hank is a go getter. He loves being a dog and has been bringing smiles to people since he was 7 weeks old. He was part of our viral "who wants to pet a puppy" Instagram reel. He loves to work. Retrieving is a game he could play all day long. He is showing to be a fabulous marker, delivers to hand, and is always looking for that next bird. Hank is out of Starlite and he shows the strength of our foundation female line. Between the way he works, problem solves, and natural talent, he is proof our program is working because he mirrors his Grandmother, Angie. He is everything I want to see in a young dog and he would be welcome in my duck blind even at this tender age of mistake making.

Hank has a fantastic obedience foundation on and off leash. His recall is impeccable. He recalls to "here" or three toots on the whistle. Hank transports in a crate or on "place" in the passenger seat.  He retrieves on land and water. His nose is remarkable and he knows how to use it. Hank is a strong swimmer and moves water out of his way. Hank has a whistle sit and is on the tail end of force fetch.

Hank is the kind of dog a person can live with during the nine months of off season. He is ready to light the field on fire when the season opens, but he is also the kind of dog who will curl up at your feet when it is time to relax after a long day. Hank appreciates physical affection and never turns down an opportunity for a snuggle session. He is as much of a lover as he is a predator.

Hank has lived in my house his entire life and knows how to live in an active human household. He is crate trained, keeps his space tidy, and he knows what toys he can chew on and what is off limits. He has never destroyed personal property and is a down right joy to work with.

Hank will excel in an active home where he will be an active family member. He is ready to join in and has the skills to adventure wherever dogs are welcome with his family. He is prepared to blend in to his new home rather than  taking it over.
Hank will excel in any hunting companion home. He is capable of working for the avid hunter as well as the weekend warrior. His biggest concern is to have a person he can bond with and become their forever heart dog.  He has the skills, intelligence, biddability, and the lineage to adapt into many living situations to be a life changing dog. Bird down? Hank is your guy. Lights low and snuggles needed? Hank is ready to meet all human snuggle needs with the skills to make transitioning to his new home enjoyable for everyone involved.

Hank is still in force fetch. He will be ready to go home in April.

Planned Breeding - 2026

I always say I make dogs that I want to live and work with. This planned breeding is no different. I chose Rueben because of my experience with his sire, Chaos. Amazing puppies. I missed my opportunity to keep a Chaos puppy and am making up for it with this breeding to Rueben. I will be retaining first pick female from this litter. This litter is for me.
